Ore Else!
A downloadable game for Windows
Ore Else! is the first game I've ever made. It was really just supposed to be a project to tinker with and get the hang of Unity without following any tutorials/guides, but after my girlfriend and a couple other people played it for hours, I figured I would go ahead and release it and hopefully some other people can get some enjoyment out of it as well.
If you enjoy this game, be sure to follow Rokomancer Studios because this is just the beginning.
Key Features:
- Immersive Exploration: If you like giant rectangles with rocks and not much else.
- Exciting Upgrades: There are four upgrades to help make the game more enjoyable and one to just kind of annoy you with an Easter egg at a level much higher than it needs to be. But if you're bored, give it a go!
- Dynamic Encounters: Of ores. You got your stone, your coal, your copper. All in three wonderful sizes. Take that, MMOs.
- Bangin' Soundtrack: The music truly is excellent.
Something I realized I didn't add to the game is buttons to close the menus. They're all closeable with the Escape key, though. So hopefully that's not the one key broken on your keyboard because I know every good gamer has that one key that doesn't work right... Enjoy!
If you want to message me about the game or just have a place to follow my work, feel free to join the Rokomancer Studios Discord server: https://discord.gg/vA2jkP6HRQ

my computer has a widescreen monitor, the upgrades tab and pause button are far off the screen but still accessible, however I cannot see the ore counter. could you add an option in the settings menu to either run the game in a window or change its resolution?
Hey, thanks for playing my game! I was alerted to this issue earlier today, I am going to see what I can do about it. I thought I had it configured properly to adjust to different aspect ratios, but something may have reset when I switched from WebGL to Windows build. I am going to look into it hopefully tomorrow and try to get this problem solved for everyone. Thanks again!
I got a new build up now that should solve the problem. Please let me know if you run into any more issues. How do you like the game other than that?
Works now, Thank you so much! I like the game overall, and I'm curious to see where you'll take it. it definitely could probably use some more substance like different areas, new ores, and landscapes. I think that having new areas to explore, perhaps with even more rare ores to find would be interesting.
Also, is the game supposed to reset your stats and ores because is sets all numbers to 0 when you start the game but once you gain an ore or get another upgrade, it sets the number to where you would have been
eg. I get up to movement speed level 3 in one game session, then close the game. When I come back my movement speed stat is at 0 until I hit the upgrade button, which then sets the movement speed level to level 4. Or I mine 5 coal in one game, close it and come back. When I come back the number of coal I have is 0 until I grab a new piece, which then sets the number in my inventory to 6.
Oh, that's interesting. Loading hasn't given me any issues. I'll see if there's anything I can do about that. Are you sure it wasn't from the update? Like have you opened it again after that and it still resets the display numbers?
As a side note, I do plan to revisit the game in a while. I had a fan message me wanting to make some assets for the game, so if that works out it could very well get more ores and environments and of course upgrades to go along with that.
